Wouldn't it have been interesting if Eckhart had outright said at the beginning that the subdermal governors had been invented by Adam when he had Brennan still & Brennan had yet to meet Adam.

What would Brennan have done when he met Adam?

i think at that time, they were realized Adam trusted them enough to tell them, and they in turn returned some of that trust realizing that it was a necessary evil to control some of the more dangerous mutants out there (such as Ashlocke). plus Adam never used the governers on them in a negative way, only Eckhart did.

thats my guess at least.
